Written by  and published in Projects

Thanks to the vision and efforts of Chris Price BDCC is exhibiting at Letchworth Festival this Sunday, 21st June.  Chris has mobilised the whole Club around this event and promoting canoeing as an awesome sport, which is why I wanted to hear more from Chris.

What is it about the Festival that caught your eye?

"We were contacted by the organisers of the Letchworth festival inviting us to participate. This is the first year that the sports clubs in Letchworth have been included. It seemed important that we got involved, seeing as our regular weekly session in the pool is in the North Herts Leisure Centre in Letchworth. This is an excellent way for us to introduce ourselves to the local public and promote our club and sport."

Why is it an important event for BDCC?

"This is an excellent way for us to introduce ourselves to the local public and promote our club and sport."

What do you hope to achieve?
"The main aim for us is to attract attention and get people interested enough to want to become members."

You've worked tirelessly on this, what's been your biggest motivation?
"Kayaking changed my life. I really would like to be able to inspire other people to give it a try.
There's a whole world waiting to be paddled out there."

We will hear more from Chris over the course of the Festival itself.
