The river Dart was at medium levels (an inch below the 'slab') when we arrived at Newbridge on the Saturday morning.
Four of the advanced paddlers went off to tackle the Upper stretch leaving the other nine to the Loop. Most of whom were at intermediate level, with a couple having their first taste of a rapid river.
An enjoyable afternoon was had by all. All of the features were negotiated safely, with only a couple of swimmers at 'Lovers Leap' and 'Triple Drop'
The Sunday was spent on the Walkham, a pretty tree lined river that runs into the Tavy. Everyone enjoyed this river and it's features including 'The Slot'.
The third day found us back at 'The Loop' which had risen four inches over night and was now flowing much faster.
A great weekend was had by all and the new paddlers are now well and truly hooked!
